English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Our English as an Additional Language program ensures that children for whom English is not their native tongue get extra help to become fluent in the English language in order to facilitate their learning. Many of our students speak several languages and English can be their 3rd or 4th language.
Our EAL teacher provides intensive English lessons for these children to give them the best opportunity to learn alongside their peers. These children become fluent speakers of English very quickly, as they interact with English speakers in the class and the playground.
We also have 3 Multicultural Educational Aids who work with the students to build their English language skills and families to enable smooth communication.
The Migrant Information Center also run an after school Homework Club at Croydon Primary School for students who are refugees.
